Gladstone Fired Up!

A collaborative, community based heritage project, weaving original words music drama poetry film and dance to celebrate the beauty grit and resilience of the Potteries’ most famous product and its people, past and present, exemplified by Gladstone Pottery Museum.”.

A year long community project based on the “Cogs in the machine workshop”. Imagined and Co-directed with original music written by Ellen it included family workshops and music workshops with local Special schools (including a “residential” workshop at Ingestre Arts Centre, Staffordshire), culminating in an all age performance celebrating the pottery industry of Stoke-on-Trent.

Weaving the words of pottery workers from archive film and materials held by Gladstone Pottery Museum with original poetry music film and dance, it was funded by Arts Council England , Stoke on Trent Council plus a number of local businesses and O2 .

The project was a collaboration between the Gladstone Pottery Museum, local artists and industrialists as well as British Police Symphony Orchestra and the British Ceramic Biennial
